New and Evolving Technologies for Venous Treatment

There are several relatively new technologies to treat varicose veins. They appear to have a promising future due to great results on human trials and less side effects, but they are not universally accepted yet and not completely covered by many insurance plans. THE NEW LOOK VEINAND AESTHETIC CENTER offers those to appropriate patients, especially if they are interested. These new procedures involve no local anesthetics and no chemicals, resulting in fewer complications. These procedures include:

  1. Venaseal device-using a glue that closes any vein-small or large, as long as the catheter reaches it. Done similarly to thermal ablation, but without local anesthetic or tumescent anesthesia, as well as no other chemicals.
  2. Clarivein device-or mechanico-chemical ablation[MOCA]. A very simple device which causes vein spasm by rotating inside the vein and enhances the closure effects of chemicals which are injected as the catheter is working in the vein. There is no need for tumescent anesthesia.
  3. Varithena-Pre-manufactured foam, ready to be injected, lasts longer and more effective in vein closure.
